'Young at heart': Dick Van Dyke, 96, takes a golf cart ride with wife Arlene Silver, 51, in Malibu
MALIBU, CALIFORNIA: Dick Van Dyke was recently spotted in Malibu with his wife Arlene Silver as the pair enjoyed a golf cart during shopping. The 96-year-old actor had on a light blue jumper, dark trousers and black slippers.
Looking otherwise in good spirits, Dyke seemed to have some kind of eye infection as his left eye looked red and inflamed. His 51-year-old wife was behind the wheels wearing a statement pair of sunglasses. The pair had exchanged vows in 2012 when the comedian was 86 and Silver was 40.

Previously, he was married to Margie Willett for nearly four decades and had four children together — Barry, Stacy, Carrie Beth and Christian. ‘The New Dick Van Dyke Show’ star also is a proud grandfather of seven children. Dyke has been in the show business for around 70 years and has won a Grammy Award, four Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award. The veteran entertainer also reportedly received the SAG Life Achievement Award in 2013 and became the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors for his lifetime contribution to American culture 2021.
Dyke was spotted soon after he was seen giving money to homeless people gathered at the Malibu Community Labor Exchange. At the time, he was sporting a long-sleeved white shirt, gray sweatpants and black slip-on shoes. The ‘Mary Poppins’ actor was also captured speaking with people as he apparently told one, “Whenever I have some 5s, I come by. You can’t do it all the time, though.”
A worker at Malibu Community Labor Exchange said, as reported by The New York Post, that Dyke had been doing humanitarian work since May 2021. “Just call him an angel from God,” the worker added. Not just that, a few days ago, the Hollywood icon was also photographed shopping for warm coats for people in need.
Dyke’s kind acts have been appreciated online by people with a fan tweeting, “Dick is one of my eternal faves!! So talented. So gracious when surrounded by ' the biz.'” A second wrote, “I loved him growing up,” to which the first one replied, “I know. Falling over the ottoman or not! Just so talented.”
